From the article:
Researchers at the University of Rochester have harnessed quantum entanglement to achieve incredibly large bandwidth. They did this by using a thin-film nanophotonic device.

This new approach could lead to enhanced sensitivity and resolution for experiments in metrology and sensing, as well as higher dimensional encoding of information in quantum networks for information processing and communications.

The research was published in Physical Review Letters.

From the article:
In the quantum world, teleportation involves the transportation of information, rather than the transportation of matter like in science fiction.

Last year, scientists confirmed that information could be passed between photons on computer chips even when the photons were not physically linked.

In a paper in Nature Communications and one to appear in Physical Review X, researchers explore new ways of creating quantum-mechanical interactions between distant electrons.
