SOUH AFRICA - Have you ever seen a White Springbok?

Definition of a Springbok:
According to Britannica, the "springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis), also called springbuck, is a graceful, strikingly marked antelope of the gazelle tribe, Antilopini (family Bovidae, order Artiodactyla).

The springbok is native to the open, treeless plains of southern Africa. It once roamed in enormous herds but is now much reduced in numbers. It is the symbol and nickname of the national rugby team of South Africa."

The Diana Hunting Tours website describes the White Springbok as "one of the colour phases of springbok, that have been bred on some South African game farms from naturally occurring animals. It originally arose in Eastern Cape Province."

Beautiful view
Note from the blog owner:
A few day's ago I saw a white springbok for the first time in my life. It was on the Boschrand Game Lodge just outside Winburg, Free State, South Africa.

From the Boschrand Game Lodge's website:
"Boschrand Lodge is a place where you can relax and enjoy nature in all its glory, boasting with more than 24 different game species to be seen on the farm."

By the way, I was not only impressed with the Boschrand Game Lodge's accommodation (a choice of Bed & Breakfast Units, Self-catering Units and Bush Camp Units), but also found the staff very friendly, helpful and professional.
