More than half the technical engineering lecturers at technical and vocational education and training (TVET) colleges in South Africa, who participated in a recent study, are unaware of any technological advancements in their area of specialisation.
Furthermore, they do not know what the potential impact of this might be on future technical training. This is according to a study undertaken by Nixon JP Teis of the University of the Free State and Christo J Els of North-West University.
